NCAC 2008 Teen Camp

Footloose - June 10-14 & 16-20 with a performances Friday June 20 & Saturday June 21. Ages 13+

The hit Broadway musical is based on a 1984 film that tells the story of Ren McCormick, a teenager who was raised in Chicago. McCormick moves to a small town where the town government has banned dancing and rock music. Ren and his classmates want to have a senior prom with music and dancing. They must figure out a way to get around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore who makes it his mission in life to keep the town free from dancing and rock music. We're seeking strong tripple threat teens in a cast of 15+. Especially seeking teen boys for the roles of Williard, Ren, and the Rev. Shaw.

NCAC's 2008 Kids Camp (WORLD PREMIERE)

Ella Enchanted The Musical - July 7-11 & 14-18 with a performance Friday July 18. Ages 8-13.

Premiering at NCAC Ella Enchanted The Musical is loosely based on the best selling novel and hit film starring Anne Hathaway. Just after birth she is given the gift of obedience by her a fairy Godmother named Lucinda. Several years later, Ella's mother dies and she is left with her father who, in need of money, remarries a wealthy socialite. His greedy, expedient new wife and her two spoiled daughters Hattie and Olive treat Ella poorly and when they find out about her gift they start using her and try to make her life a misery and ruin it. Hattie takes malicious joy in Ella's suffering. Ella must be rid of the curse and we follow her on her exciting and hilarious Journey to find her fairy Godmother. Featuring such hit songs as Somebody to love, Walking on Sunshine, Don't Go Breaking My Heart, and many more! This is an exciting opportunity for students to add a world premiere children's show to their resume! We are seeking several young female performers ages 11-13 for the roles of Ella, Hattie, Olive, Dame Olga, Mandy, and Lucinda. We're also seeking five males ages in the roles of Prince Char, Sir Peter, Slannen, Benny, and the Narrator. Many other roles will be available, but please contact us if you are interested in one of these roles particularly.

2008 NCAC Stage Actors Intensive

The Crucible June 23-27 with a performance June 27 Ages 11+

One of the great American plays written by Arthur Miller will be presented by NCAC in this intensive for actors only. A small group of teen girls in 1692 Salem, Massachusetts caught in an innocent conjuring of love potions to catch young men are forced to tell lies that Satan had invaded them and forced them to participate in the rites and are then forced to name those involved. Thrown into the mix are greedy preachers and other major landowners trying to steal others' land and one young woman infatuated with a married man  and determined to get rid of his innocent wife.

 

2008 Teen Musical Theatre Intensive

Songs For A New World - July 21-25 with a performance July 25. Ages 13+

Join us for this musical theatre intensive featuring songs from the Hit Broadway musical by composer Jason Robert Brown. We are seeking three ladies and four gentlemen for this production ending with a performance and dessert concert.
