The NC Actors Conservatory

Training professional performers in the arts

Cathy Faussett

Faussett is the Executive Director of NCAC and is thrilled to be a part of Legacy Studios for the Performing Arts

A transplant to the Triangle, Faussett came to the USA from Canada 14 years ago, initially working as the Executive Director of the Tap and Jazz programs at ADC, and then beginning The North Carolina Kids Theatre in 1998.  In this time she has evolved NCKT from a performing company, to a school with performance opportunities, and recently began working in Television and Film.  Published author (A Perfect Day and Kid Friendly Fairy Tales), Faussett has also written over 70 plays performed by the touring division of the company and performed in over 2000 plays.  Proudly her work on “To Kill a Mockingbird” was selected as a Top Ten Shows of the Year by the News and Observer last year, for which she was also voted “Best Director in NC” by the Charlotte New Indy.

Although teaching is her passion, she also enjoys directing, including favorites “Diary of Anne Frank, Seussical, Grease, Annie, Miracle Worker, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Wiz”.  Favorite performances include Broadways Cats, West Side Story, Barnum and Mobius.  A veteran of Stage and Film, she enjoys teaching and coaching, and has had much success in training hundreds of students to be working as actors, and dancers. Faussett is a mother of 3 (Jamie-21, Nick-12 and Matt-9) and resides in Durham with her husband Jim.
